(Senior) Strategic Sourcing Analyst

Job Purpose:

Now is a great time to join Galland Henning Nopak, a fourth-generation family business who is a leader in fluid power in Greater Milwaukee.  We are in search of an innovative and motivated individual to play a key role in our sourcing efforts as we undertake a significant growth initiative.

This position will evaluate our current buying systems and create the best methods for day-to-day purchasing operations. Strategic Sourcing Analyst will participate in establishing goals based on inventory needs and sales projections for the coming year. Skilled negotiator with previous experience in the manufacturing industry and material sourcing.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services
• Responsible for supply chain relationships and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
• Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
• Propose improvements to the current supply chain system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business year over year
• Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year
• Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses
• Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing agents are meeting their personal performance standards
• Assist in developing more effective invoicing and collecting processes

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field
• APICS certification preferred
• 5+ years purchasing and sourcing management experience
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management required
• Proven history of developing effective inventory management policies required
• Must display a strong “sense of urgency” and can-do approach and possess a passion for reducing costs
• Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and management.
