Production Planner / Buyer

This position will report to our Planning Lead and focus on building and analyzing our production schedule, work with our shipping/receiving and material handling team ensuring proper delivery of materials to work centers and work with our buying team to ensure correct purchase of raw materials. This individual will also work with Nopak staff to ensure our ERP functions well and provides the data we need, plans well and make good business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Release and Print work orders.
- Review inventory levels for stock items.
- Review safety stock levels in the ERP system and make recommendations to change quantities.
- Assist in maintaining production schedule.
- Work with material handling team to ensure proper staging of materials to accomplish efficient production schedules.
- Utilize ERP software and supporting worksheets to maintain processes for production planning/buying and capacity planning.
- Coordinate efforts for expedited materials to ensure customer deliveries are in accordance with schedule.
- Interface with the Engineering team to receive technical support during manufacturing and delivery of product.
- Identify material shortages and work with the buyer to close the gaps.
- Releasing Schedules to shop floor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years progressive planning/scheduling atmosphere
- Experience in production scheduling and ERP systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and management
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Organizational skills with an ability to multi-task on a daily basis
